RedWolfPoems  prompt by Irene Toh

Gold and green, colors of spring
thoughts that flit on petrel’s wings
flit, flutter, fluster and flail
fears and hopes on weedy trails
embraced by waves of lassitude
a veil drops, my eyes refuse
to stay open and I sink
in a sea of ebony ink
that swirls into vivid hues
jonquil gold and whirls chartreuse

  1. brian miller says:

ha this has a fun jaunty rhythm to it.
and you may want to get a nap in before your eyes droop too much…smiles.
i like all the f sounds in that third line. it sets a quick pace through the reading.
