Abstract Painting by Clayton Kashuba

“Your prompt is to write about an abstract painting. Alternatively you could write an abstract poem.”

Blue words of a feather stuck in mud
sucked into the quicksand of sludge
explode in shards of prismatic sonic
waves restless, listless, bullets
of lima beans aimed at soap bubbles
foaming Lifebuoy striping the tongue
in expletives of gyrating anger lettering
the lexicon maypole and universal
undulating yellow syllabic scale.
