withrealtoads Transforming with Nature’s Wonders  Imagined By
“poetry through the eyes of Nature…”

Crowded streets congested roads the city reeks of sweat and exhaust oppressive summer slicks the faces of hunters searching for food, prey, entertainment, love, in their Gucchi heels and Wall Street suits –

powwow of forgotten words and ways.

The more concrete, skylines of glass and steel, the less the spirit of the land Creator God is heard and the more loss we suffer without even knowing.

I’m not sure this reveals my meaning, but I am trying to see our “progress” through the eyes of nature that was once revered and cared for by Native Americans.

Love this, Bebbie. It reminds me of the old Hippie Day song, ‘Put up a parking lot’, aka “Pink Paradise.” I’n a waiting as an outpatient at our local Herman Memorial Hospital. You wouldn’t have been riding with me in the getting here. I was looking for it on the Wrong Side of the freeway, I-10. Only did go up one Wrong Way little road. Concrete maze of overpasses and freeways (one was a toll).

  3. I also love the line that, de mentioned. I think you’ve captured so well the sense of loss of connection with nature in this. So sad that we cause ourselves to suffer so. Thank you, for adding your voice to the challenge, Debi.

Yes, perhaps the saddest line is the loss we endure without even knowing……much on my mind right now, as wildfires rage up north and humans and animals suffer.

  5. Thank goodness for Frederick Law Olmsted – we owe many green spaces to him. Our city landscapes would look entirely more bleak without his visions. Powwow of forgotten words and ways, indeed.
