Bye a baby,
sweet sleepy eyes
I’ll sing to you a lull
a bye.

Calm your sobs,
dry your tears
as I soothe your
tiny tot fears

with bye a baby,
sweet dreams to you
lulled to sleep with a song
of lullabye blues.

  1. How great that I can comment now…I found your poem so very very sweet… exactly the kind of lull we all wish to give (and maybe receive too)

I am glad I can comment now too, Debi! I think a lot of people tried to comment & could not. Nothing sweeter than watching a baby drift into sleep! I loved the use of “lull” and “lullabye” in the same stanza! I wanted to say “Awwwww” after I finished reading your poem.

So totally sweet. We once had a prompt to write a lullaby and my musician brother put it to music. I love this.

  8. Soft touch of
    baby’s breath..
    peace glows
    from lips
    so sweet..
    human
    sleeps
    a lull to
    bye
    other
    ways
    from baby
    dreams..:)
