My Eleventh Christmas

Miz Quickly 11 Past Life Regression
“Go back into your former lives. Go back. Go back, back, back.  Seriously? I didn’t mean that far. More like three or four years. Or ten. Fifty, max.”

Bundled up like arctic explorers
we trudged red cheeked through the snow
(me in the lead cause I’m oldest)
two girls and a boy in a row.
Mom had bought us a Christmas tree
all silver like shreds of aluminum foil
and a wheel of light that changed colors,
pretty, but I guess we were a bit spoiled
for Christmas we thought should be real.
Finally, after a spate of argument
we found an agreed upon one
Mike chopped it down – oh, the scent
of fresh pine in the air, what a thrill
and we dragged our Charlie Brown tree
home down that snow covered hill.

There were times when one could to that – Not so much anymore.
